We bring narrative art into the Berlin rooms! For World History Day on 21 March - this year's theme is "Voyages" - professional storytellers will be guests in private living rooms in Kreuzberg and Prenzlauer Berg. We invite you to get to know two living rooms and two professional storytellers at close quarters on one evening.

Storytelling back to the roots: Meeting in the living room to listen to stories is wonderfully retro and the view into a foreign home is an additional attraction!

Telling stories in a small, intimate circle was the origin of the art of storytelling, and it still has a special charm when the storytellers appear close and in direct contact with the audience. In a cosy atmosphere you can immerse yourself in the pictures that the narrators create. The in-between paths can be contemplated in silence or can be entertained with a lot of conversation.

A narrative art evening with Hasan Ze Alnoon - Joulia Strauss - Rachel Clarke and live music with Florian Grupp at the grand piano.

No matter how gigantic your opponent is, there are fights that you have to accept. But what to do if there is a fire everywhere? With true stories from Syria (Hasan Zealnoon), Greece (Joulia Strauss) and a political verse ballad about the current situation in Germany (Rachel Clarke).

STORYTELLING ARENA - Angekommen! Arrived! Arrivati!

‚Angekommen‘ kann heißen: am Ende einer Reise am Ziel anzukommen. Aber es kann genauso gut „Erfolg“ heißen: „Ich bin angekommen“ heißt in einer Gesellschaft eine gute Position erreicht zu haben. „I have arrived!“ auf Englisch trägt in sich auch diese zwei Bedeutungen. Auf Italienisch bedeutet „Arrivati!“: Am Ufer angekommen sein‘. In der Storytelling Arena schauen uns das Thema aus verschiedenen Perspektiven an. Dabei erzählt Antje, eine junge Frau aus NRW von ihrem alptraumhaften Umzug nach Brandenburg, um einen neuen Job anzunehmen und wie es geschafft hat, über 3 Jahre dort langsam 'anzukommen'. Dörthe, eine 81-Jährige erzählt die Geschichte ihrer Flucht als Kind Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs von Schlesien nach Berlin, woran sie immer wieder erinnert wird, wenn sie die Bilder der syrischen Kinder in den Ruinen ihrer Städte sieht. Ihab, ein junger Syrer erzählt die Geschichte seines Aufbruchs aus Damaskus im 2015, seiner Ankunft in Deutschland und vom Gefühl hier immer als Fremde angeschaut zu werden. Die 52 Jahre alte Sabine erzählt von ihrer Reise als junge Mutter Anfang November 1989 nach Prag und wie sie damals spät nachts am 9 November in eine Stadt angekommen ist, die es offiziell nicht mehr gab. Und wie die echte 'Ankunft' in der BRD ihr erst Jahre später gelungen ist. Und am Ende erzählt wieder Ihab, dieses Mal davon, wie er es mittlerweile geschafft hat, erfolgreich an der Spree anzukommen.

Storytelling Arena - Weltdorf Moabit, Love and other matters

People from Berlin Moabit tell stories from their lives, around the theme of love.

Autor Nawras Ali asks himself - whether Eden is to be found on earth, and discovers it in a romantic moment in the rain, and remembers the beauty of all the moments inbetween.
Ilhan Emirli tells a traditional story about the love between 2 brothers which is tried and tested but stands the test of time.
Salam tells the story of the love of her 4 year old daughter to all human beings, which moves her to interrupt the work of a General in Syria.
These and other stories will be shared in this moving evening.
